East Cheshire Hospice

For those that are suffering from life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers our aim is to ‘make every day count’.

Founded 1988

  • Mission statement

East Cheshire Hospice cares for adults suffering from life-limiting illnesses for which there is no cure. We care for the whole person, aiming to meet all needs, whether they are medical, emotional or spiritual or around the challenges of daily-living. We support families and carers throughout what is often a difficult period.

Supported by over five hundred volunteers, East Cheshire Hospice is based in Macclesfield and cares for people throughout East Cheshire and parts of North Derbyshire, from Poynton to Congleton and from Knutsford to Buxton.

Our mission is to make every day count for our patients and those important to them.

Staffed by specialist nurses, doctors and support staff, we have a 15 bed In-patient Unit where patients can stay for end of life care, rehabilitation, symptom control or respite care. The Unit is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. We also have a busy Day Care Centre which helps local people continue to live independently at home.

A registered charity, all our services are completely free. However, the hospice receives less than 20% of its costs from government and so has to fundraise almost £6,700 every single day of the year simply to maintain its current service.
