Young Kent

We support disadvantaged young people (aged 8-25) in Kent and Medway. We work with affiliated member groups and the wider youth sector to ensure that the countys young people can access services that meet their needs.

Founded 1936

  • Mission statement

We work with the youth sector, in particular the countys youth clubs as well as delivering tour own programmes of support direct for disadvantaged, disengaged or disabled young people. All the work we do helps young people to build the confidence and skills they need to overcome their barriers, realise their true potential and enjoy brighter futures.

  • Aims

    Young Kent aims to:

    • Young Kent aims to dispel common myths young people may have about mental health with the hope of removing the stigma around this sensitive issue. We assist with this through our RU Ok? programme.
    • Young Kent believes that the inclusion of disabled young people in mainstream youth and leisure activities should be available to everyone, we assist with this through our Me2 programme.
