  • Mission statement

Music making is for everyone. For many of us music is something we have to give up at school, even more of us wish we'd had more chances to learn music earlier, and for longer. Generally, it is agreed that more music making in our early life can help us find a path to the fun of lifelong music making. Whatever the background of a young musicmaker, 'On The Edge' invites participation from any child or young person that wants to begin or develop their musical understanding and bolster their communication skills as they go.

Formally, the mission of 'On The Edge' is to advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all its aspects by any means the trustees see fit including through the presentation of public concerts and recitals.

Essentially, 'On The Edge' wants more young people to enjoy making music of all kinds, in all parts of the community.
