North East Autism Society

The North East Autism Society is the largest specialist provider of whole life support and services for people with autism, learning difficulties and disabilities in the North East.

Each year we support over 400 children, young people and adults with autism to achieve their aspirations. We also provide vital support to their immediate and extended families.

  • Mission statement

    Our mission is to promote the welfare, development and advancement of children, young people and adults with physical and/or learning disabilities and in particular those affected by autism within the UK and Northern Ireland. To do so we work in partnership with the individual, their parents and carers and other organisations to achieve outstanding personalised services for them.

  • Aims

    North East Autism Society aims to:

    • Develop highly personalised plans for service users based on their specific needs, which will promote the development of their skills for life and ability to be independent citizens.
    • Ensure that all of our education and childcare policies are designed to meet the needs of individuals.
    • Further develop opportunities for young people with autism to access further education, social and vocational programs.
    • Raise awareness of autism, the needs of individuals and their families with professionals, politicians and members of the public.
    • Develop and deliver in partnership with local authorities and other agencies.
