B3 - Be Heard Be Motivated Be Free

B-3 started as a small Service User group in 2008 and is a peer led service, designed and run by service users and volunteers. Our aim is to: raise awareness of drug and alcohol issues through information and education, provide a voice and support for service users and improve services in Brent through community feedback, partnership work, training and service user involvement. We also run a weekend drop in both Saturdays and Sundays so that there is always a safe place for our service users.

  • Mission statement

Our mission is to inspire a culture of positive change among our service users. We like to ensure above all that there is always a safe place for individuals to go to. At BSAFE we offer: signposting, a safe space for people to meet peers, chat, get a bite to eat, watch TV, play games or borrow from our library! There is always a nominated staff member to supervise volunteers, however the service is entirely peer led and it is what gives it that special feel. Our volunteers are enthusiastic individuals with a passion for influencing positive changes in Brent’s neighbourhood and particularly people with substance misuse issues. The difference we make is to ensure that local residents have their voices heard and offer them a safe space to come to at the weekend for support and a bite to eat. We help to promote meetings, events and activities which give local people the opportunity to learn about support that is available to them in Brent, from B-3, BSAFE and other organisations.

  • Aims

B3 - Be Heard Be Motivated Be Free aims to:

    • Our service is ran by volunteers who work really hard throughout the year. At Christmas we want to say thank you for their service and the difference that they help make to the local community
    • People who suffer with substance misuse are particularly vulnerable around Christmas. This is why it is important for us to have the resources to keep our drop in open throughout the festive period
    • A large part of our client-group is faced with homelessness. At Christmas time we like to make sure that they have plenty warm clothes, shelter and a hot meal waiting for them when they come to see us
