Animal Welfare Foundation

The Animal Welfare Foundation (AWF) is a fundraising and grant giving charity directed by the veterinary profession which uses veterinary expertise to improve the welfare of all animals including working and livestock animals, wildlife and pets.
We provide grant funding for direct impact research projects and provide education, advice resources and a forum for discussion to highlight and debate welfare issues and promote practices which will enhance animal welfare for generations to come.

    The Animal Welfare Foundation (AWF) is a charity directed by the veterinary profession with a collective vision for the welfare of all animals from livestock to wildlife and companion animals of all species.

    Our mission is to use veterinary knowledge to improve the welfare of animals through science, education and debate to ensure animals enjoy a better life thanks to advanced animal welfare practices based on veterinary knowledge.

    We work directly with veterinary professionals from all specialities which provides us with a unique insight into the many challenges facing animal welfare.

    This professional approach underpins all our work; AWF uses its expertise and passion to deliver practical solutions which will directly impact current animal welfare best practice and that will continue to ensure animals live a healthy and happy life in the future.
