Mission statement
The CAPITAL Project exists to improve the lives of people with mental health problems living in West Sussex. Run entirely by people who experience mental distress it offers training, peer support and good quality volunteering and involvement opportunities for those who choose to take them up.

Aims
The Capital Project Trust aims to:
- To offer people with mental health problems opportunities to build their skills in voluntary roles which contribute to the improvement of mental health services
- To offer peer support to psychiatric inpatients, role-modelling hope and helping to develop helpful strategies and self-management tools to contribute to their recovery
- To educate people with mental health problems so that they learn the knowledge and skills that enable them to take up meaningful roles in society, feeling happier and more socially included.
- To offer mutual peer support to people with mental health problems, enabling them to try new things with support and so progress along their recovery journey with increased confidence.
- To educate the public to improve their understanding of mental health issues, so to reduce the stigma experienced by people with mental health problems and make society more socially inclusive.
