Founded 2003

  • Mission statement

The aim of the project is to ‘empower’ and ‘inspire’ young women to identify and undertake the work they need to do in order to make ‘positive changes’ in their lives. The project does this by; energising the women and creating enthusiasm for the work, believing in them, providing a non judgemental approach to their current lives, promoting the belief that they are entitled to achieve and thrive, showing confidence in their abilities and potential for growth, acknowledging accomplishments and encouraging their peers to do the same, valuing their contribution, valuing cultural difference, recognising and identifying errors as learning experiences, encouraging and supporting women to take responsibility for and share in the success of the project, leading by example so that the staff create a feedback loop of positive expectation, being genuine with the beneficiaries and their children at all times.

The project supports women to become; mentally, physically and emotionally healthier, better informed, trained and educated, leading to better employment and housing prospects. They will also enjoy a sense of belonging and involvement in the community and wider society and have developed greater confidence and a healthy self esteem. This will reduce the socioeconomic risk factors associated with teenage pregnancy and interrupt intergenerational cycle of deprivation.

In the past 14 years we have been a successful in meeting all of outcomes.
