The Green Team

Established in 1998, The Green Team is a local charity which provides volunteering opportunities, offering training in horticulture and is governed by a Board of Trustees. We provide a year round, low-cost gardening service for older or disabled people in Goole and the surrounding areas and take on tasks including mowing lawns, strimming, weeding, hedge cutting, pruning and planting. There is a regular lawn mowing service from spring to autumn and all green waste is removed and recycled.

  • Mission statement

We aim to change the lives of our Volunteers by widening their perspective of their place in society. This is achieved by building confidence, raising aspirations and creating the motivation to achieve their own targets and goals. Our unique service enables the individual Volunteer to contribute to the good of others whilst helping themselves. Ultimately individuals find themselves more suitably equipped to cope with their lives in a better, more positive way, wether it be through paid employment or being able to work within a non-judgemental, caring environment.
Our Code of Conduct was created by our current Volunteers. It is the guide that everyone works by at The Green Team and it shows new members to the team what will be expected of them whilst working with us.
