Charity information

The Bodie Hodges Foundation

We are a Leicester based charity and our main objective is to support families that have been bereaved of a child. We are also passionate about raising the awareness of Organ Donation and the importance of getting more people signed up to the Organ Donation Register.

Founded 2013

  • Mission statement

We aim to support bereaved families by giving them time away together as a family to reflect and recuperate. We opened ‘Bodie’s Boathouse’ in October 2016 following 4 years of fundraising and hope to support 30 families each year. The Hodge’s family lost their son, Bodie, aged 10 months old following a choking accident at home and the Foundation was set up in his honour. Our 2nd objective is to increase awareness of the Organ Donation Register and to get more families to sign up. In the days before Bodie passed away in hospital, his family made the tough decision to register him. His organs went on to save the lives of 4 other children.

  • Aims

The Bodie Hodges Foundation aims to:

    • To support a minimum of 30 families that have been bereaved of a child with a week away at Bodie's Boathouse.
    • To raise the awareness of Organ Donation and increase the amount of people signed up to the Organ Donation Register.
