The charity purpose of Birmingham Vernon Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets is to promote the development of young people in achieving their physical, intellectual and social potential as individuals and as responsible citizens by the provision of education and leisure time activities using a nautical theme.

    To give young people the best possible head start in life, through nautical adventure and fun. Based upon the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy.

  • Aims

    Birmingham (vernon) Unit 40 Of The Sea Cadet Corps aims to:

    • Offering young people a structured environment in which to develop.
    • Providing access for young people to education and training in a wide range of areas which may include but not exclusively: watersports, seamanship, navigation, drill and public services & first aid
    • Providing opportunities for young people to obtain a range of qualifications some of which are nationally accredited and recognised.
    • Promoting good citizenship through community involvement.
    • Inspiring young people through fun and adventurous nautical activity to learn and develop new skills that give them a head start in life, and supporting an strong volunteer base
