Dzi Foundation Uk

DZi (pronounced ‘zee’) provides deep development support to villages in the most remote valleys of Eastern Nepal. Our working area spans seven VDCs (equivalent to a county), 77 settlements, and is home to 29,000 of the most charming, peaceful and resilient people in the world.
Reaching these areas requires walking over rough mountain trails for at least two days from the closest road or rough air strip. We provide a range of deep development support to these hard-to-reach communities.

Founded 2012

  • Mission statement

We work in true partnership with community members to bring real change that lasts. Communities invite dZi in to help work with them towards their own development goals, usually over a five-ten year period. This means our work varies according to the needs of each community but includes constructing local infrastructure such as schools, toilets, drinking water systems, health centres and bridges. We also provide income
generation programmes and essential soft skills education such as agricultural trainings to increase incomes and food security.
