Global Greengrants Fund UK

We believe that solutions to environmental harm and social injustice come from
people whose lives are most impacted. Every day, our global network of people on the
frontlines and donors comes together to support communities to protect their ways of
life and our planet. Because when local people have a say in the health of their food,
water, and resources, they are forces for change.

  • Mission statement

Global Greengrants Fund mobilises resources for communities worldwide to protect our shared planet and contribute to a more
    equitable world.

For nearly 25 years, Global Greengrants Fund has supported local efforts to create a world where people live in harmony with nature, in peace with one another, in dignity, and with mutual respect and equity for all.

We have been deeply troubled by the global rise of nationalist movements that are driven more by racism, xenophobia, sexism, science denial, religious discrimination, and homophobia than by the real economic inequality they claim to oppose. Such movements are direct threats to both people and our shared planet.

On behalf of our global community, we re-affirm our commitment to a movement for environmental justice that is part of the universal struggle for social and economic rights. We stand in solidarity with people who face exclusion and hate on a daily basis: women, workers, indigenous peoples, marginalised communities, immigrants, and people of all colours, religions, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

We are united in our efforts to resist unjust and polluting industries, and we will continue to support brave communities around the world who are on the frontlines of struggles for the basic human right to clean air and water, healthy oceans and forests, and a climate that can support all life.
