The Tree House Trust

The Treehouse Trust, was set up in 2011 to establish and support the running of the Treehouse School , an alternative non-fee paying primary school, in Cholsey. We are unique in this country in our approach to tackling key issues such as sustainability, mental health and inclusion by changing the way we educate children from the earliest stages of primary education and influence the national education policy with our approach.

  • Mission statement

Where children’s happiness is paramount; where the curriculum is bespoke, designed around children’s needs and interests; where there is a commitment to outdoor learning and hands on experiences; where children are motivated and inspired; where all children are successful as individuality is valued; where respect for the environment and healthy lifestyles are honed... The Treehouse School.

Time to move on…By the end of their time at The Treehouse School children will be happy, confident and able to think for themselves. We will have developed the skills and aptitudes they need to be successful in the world of work, leisure and relationships. With a love of learning they will be well placed to embark on the next stage of their education. We aim to develop life long learners.

Time to act…The Government, unlike us, are not concerned with children’s well being. Top of their agenda is performance tables, statistics and political gain…thus this project does not attract public funding. Anxious to be non-fee paying we are totally dependent on donations and patronage. We believe the children leaving our school are such good ambassadors for our style of education that influential people are starting to listen to us.
