MV is a migrant-led charity set up to develop the skills, capacity and confidence of members of migrant communities, including asylum seekers and refugees, to strengthen their voice and representation in the media and public fora to counteract xenophobia and hostility, develop greater understanding and support for migrants’ rights.
Migrant Voice mobilises migrants to contribute to migration debates to improve attitudes and behaviours towards migrants.
Migrant Voice will have achieved its mission when this Strategic Aim is realised:
Migrant Voice’s strategic aim is to improve the attitudes and behaviours towards migration by providing opportunities for migrants from a wide range of backgrounds to contribute directly to the dialogue on migration.
Migrant Voice aims to:
- 1. To advance education amongst migrants and asylum seekers, by the provision of training, advice and support especially around media work.
- 2. To advance the education of the public in general and the media about the issues relating to migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
