Yellow Brick Road Projects

Yellow Brick Road Projects creates and delivers programmes of learning and support for young people. The flagship programme You Matter works on the principle that everyone needs a home but not everyone has the skills to maintain it.
The Accredited You Matter programmes teach the young people how to manage their money, tenancy, relationships and plan for a brighter more secure future in work.

Founded 2015

  • Mission statement

We believe that everyone has the right to learn how to safely maintain their lives. The families who benefit from this project are those for whom the stresses of daily life: poverty, insecure or sub-standard housing, unemployment, domestic abuse, poor education, isolation from friends and family, lack of basic life skills and lack of self-confidence have an impact on their ability to safeguard their children. All these circumstances have a direct impact on mental health and wellbeing. This in turn affects their ability to bond with their children, leading to a downward spiral for the whole family.

  • Aims

Yellow Brick Road Projects aims to:

    • ENGAGE – EDUCATE – EVOLVE the lives of young people, in particular young parents, in order for them to give the next generation the best opportunities
    • To deliver high social impact programmes across a broad spectrum of the most marginalised, socially excluded groups of young people
    • To reduce the social costs of deprivation by lifting young parents, through education, out of poverty
