"Supporting others to support themselves" is the core concept of Maisha Foundation.
By providing both education and feeding programmes to those in need through sponsorship programmes, and activly encouraging the community through learning new skills, the slum and street community can then be able to truly escape the vicious cycle of poverty.
We believe that every child; irrespective of their background, deserves the right to free education, free food / water and a safe place to stay. No child living in poverty should ever be discriminated or ignored. These children are the future and through self-sustainability support, they can help themselves and their families escape this lifestyle for the next generation.
In order to assist community development we educate slum children, street children and orphans and feed them high nutritional meals twice a day. In addition we provide skilled workshops to the youth.
Maisha: Foundation aims to:
- Provide education for vulnerable young children including street children, orphans and slum children up to the age of 18
- To ensure the community have access to nutritious meals at least twice a day
- Provide basic healthcare and help families generate a self sustainable income
