Headway Preston And Chorley

We support adults who have sustained a brain injury through trauma, illness and infection and we also support their families. We provide community sessions to help improve confidence, learn new skills, keep good general health, manage lond term conditions. Our sessions include art, IT, walking, exercise classes, talking therapy and cooking. We also provide support in hospital from critical care to discharge. Our literature provides information and education about ABI and we provide training.

    Our structure

    Our Board of Trustees is responsible overall for the charity. A Project Manager oversees the day to day running of the charity and is responsible for ensuring the charity operates within its guidelines and policies. A Services Coordinator organises the Headway sessions and activities and a Volunteer & Events Coordinator is responsible for recruiting and training volunteers and organising small events. We also have professional advisers who donate their time and expertise to the charity and a team of volunteers who donate a considerable amount of time and effort in many roles.

    • To support people who are resident in the area of Preston and Chorley, Lancashire who have suffered a brain injury, their families, carers and other related professionals.
    • To advance the education of the public in all aspects relating to brain injury and its prevention.
