  • Mission statement

Purbeck CA is committed to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice service.
The Citizens Advice Service provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities. It values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination.

    The service aims:
    • To provide the advice people need for the problems they face.
    • To improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.

Purbeck CA aims to offer an accessible service to the diverse community of Purbeck, via face-to-face advice, telephone, letter, e-mail, and outreach and home visit services. The service to clients is based on the needs of the community locally, including people who are disadvantaged through social exclusion, including rural isolation, and/or discrimination. The service is available to everyone regardless of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, age or nationality.

Purbeck CA also gives prominence to Research & Campaign work as it is one of the twin aims of our service.
An important part of Citizens Advice work is to gather evidence which can be submitted to government or other appropriate bodies to influence social policy.
As a service we have a huge amount of insight and data about the problems our clients and their wider communities face
We use the experiences of our clients to influence how local and national policies and procedures are developed and implemented; and campaign for positive changes to help clients.
