Street Child United

Street Child United provides a global platform for street children to be heard and to receive the protection, support and opportunities all children deserve. Ahead of the world’s biggest sporting competitions, we host international events and use the power of sport to challenge the negative perceptions and treatment of street children, transforming lives across the world.

Founded 2011

  • Mission statement

We are dedicated to challenging the negative perceptions and treatment of street children, and we use the power of sport and art to campaign for their human rights. We show the world that these children are survivors, not criminals, and we are determined to give them access to their rights.

  • Aims

    Street Child United aims to:

    • To provide a platform so that street children can have their voices heard and access their rights, including education, protection from violence and the right to a legal identity.
    • To provide strength to a global network of NGOs that work with street children so that they can build their capacity by learning from each other, and strengthen their messaging by working together.
    • To change the negative perceptions of street children in order that the treatment that they receive can also change.
