Home-start Southwark
Home-Start Southwark (H-SS) exists to prevent family crisis and breakdown by supporting parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children in the most deprived areas of the London Borough of Southwark. H-SS achieves this by recruiting and training local volunteers to provide parenting support, encouragement and professional friendship in people’s homes and through support groups and structured early intervention work in the community.

To provide practical and emotional support to struggling parents enabling them to create happier lives for their babies & children and to provide learning and vocational opportunities for the volunteers that support them.

Home-start Southwark aims to:
- Home-Start Southwark aims to increase parents’ skills in raising their children to have the best possible start and be more resilient in later lives
- Home-Start Southwark aime to recruit, train, retain and support volunteers to develop personally and vocationally through supporting families in the community
- We aim to increase the ability of Home-Start Southwark to continue providing a successful family support service through sustaining the organisation
