The Du Boisson Dance Foundation

The Du Boisson Dance Foundation is committed to attracting and training the most talented and passionate dancers, irrespective of their ability to pay.

It supports both the West London School of Dance (WLSD) which provides part-time ballet tuition to pupils aged 3-16 and the Young Dancers Charitable Academy (known as YDA) which provides a full vocational training and a first rate academic education on a full-time basis to around 45 aspiring boys and girls aged 11-16.

  • Mission statement

The Du Boisson Dance Foundation is committed to attracting, training and educating the most talented and passionate dancers, irrespective of their ability to pay. The dbd Foundation supports two of London’s most successful dance schools: The Young Dancers Academy and The West London School of Dance. Both schools are under the outstanding leadership of Anna du Boisson, founder and Artistic Director. She was previously the Rehearsal Director for 15 years at the Rambert.

The Schools offer an environment for students from every background aged 3-16 to grow in confidence and foster a love for dance, music and theatre, whilst also receiving a first class academic education at the Young Dancers Academy. All students are given the opportunity to participate in live performances, which inspire them to reach their potential, gaining many valuable life skills including collaboration, teamwork, discipline and focus.

The Foundation’s Bursary Programme supports the Schools’ policy to ensure talented young dancers from the most disadvantaged backgrounds are able to develop their full potential and to pursue their passion.

The Du Boisson Dance Foundation prides itself on never turning away a talented child. We will always find room but need funds to be able to continue our work.
