University Of Portsmouth Students Union

As a charity led by its values and guided by its students, the Union does this by providing wide-ranging services and learner support to the 20,000 + students of the University of Portsmouth. The Union is based in the center of Portsmouth and turns over £1. 7M per annum, employing approximately 35 career staff and a further 35 student staff. The organisation also works with over 1000 registered student volunteers and has close to 8000 members of sports clubs and societies.

    The Students’ Union is an independent charity that exists to advance the education of University of Portsmouth students through a range of exciting services and activities. Our mission is to create a positive impact with every Portsmouth student during their time at University.

    University Of Portsmouth Students Union aims to:

    • Promoting the interests and welfare of Students at the University of Portsmouth during their course of study and representing, supporting and advising Students
    • Being the recognised representative channel between Students and the University of Portsmouth and any other external bodies
    • Providing social, cultural, sporting and recreational activities and forums for discussions and debate for the personal development of its Students
