Charity information

The Voices Foundation

The Voices Foundation is a national charity which uses the power of singing to improve the lives of children and young people in the UK.

We transform music in schools by developing teachers' and music educators' knowledge, skills and confidence in how to teach music effectively.

Founded 1993

  • Mission statement

The Voices Foundation helps children and young people learn to sing and develop as musicians.

We want to make sure that no child is left out when it comes to learning to be a musician. It is proven that children who engage in high quality, regular musical learning from an early age gain musical, intellectual, emotional and social advantages. However, many children miss out on these benefits as they do not have access to any form of music education.

We help teachers and schools to ensure that music is an integral part of education from the early years. The Voices Foundation wants to give every child the chance to discover their musical talent so that they are part of the next generation of musicians.

  • Aims

    The Voices Foundation aims to:

    • Improve access and reach to include more children in challening circumstances
    • Deepen impact and outcomes for children, schools and communities
    • Increase sustainability of outcomes and for the organisation itself
