  • Mission statement

    With a membership of 145, Driffield Methodist Church is the largest of the 14 Churches comprising the Driffield-Hornsea Methodist Circuit. The prominent, town centre location of the premises has led to increasing demands on the building from a wide variety of user groups. The Church takes seriously its responsibility to share the love of God with the local community and seeks to enhance its capability to engage with local stakeholders to make a significant contribution to meeting the social needs within the town.

    The Methodist Church has traditionally had a strong influence on the town of Driffield, offering a gathered community of believers committed to worship and service. The focal point has been the large, town centre Church building along with its schoolroom which has become an important asset to the town offering a multi-purpose and well-used space for a variety of community groups.

    Driffield Methodist Church provides a well-established network of pastoral care for its members.

    Driffield Methodist Church aims to:

    • Environmental responsibility and energy sustainability through renewables – eg solar panels & Ground Source Heat Pump
    • Fiscal stability – FIT/RHI, reduced energy and maintenance costs.
    • Worship & community legacy for future generations.
    • Respond to paucity of community space and reduction of rural services.
    • Significantly enhanced outreach.
