With intelligent recycling we reduce mobility waste and maximise the lives of African amputees. We believe that isolation and exclusion due to disability and geographic location is unacceptable. We work to provide people with the means to reach their full potential and quash the stigma that disability can invoke.
To improve the quality of lives of amputees in Africa by giving them the resources they so desperately need. The more legs we get; the more lives we change.
The charitable objects Legs4Africa have adopted are:
(a) the advancement of health and/or the relief of human suffering; and
(b) the relief of those in need, by reason of ill-health and/or disability
and/or financial hardship
by the provision of prosthetic limbs and other like mobility equipment (which is collated
in the United Kingdom and which would otherwise have to be disposed of as the same
cannot be reused in the United Kingdom in accordance with European Union law) to
individuals in need of prosthetic limbs in Africa who cannot afford, or otherwise do not
have access to, such healthcare.
Legs4Africa aims to:
- Furnish the Wheelchair Centre, that supplies the whole of The Gambia, with wheelchairs, parts and tools as well as the nearby physiotherapy department with essential equipment.
