Give Youth A Break

Every year we aim to offer 120 children between the ages of 8-16, from the London Borough of Barnet and surrounding areas, meaningful weekly leisure activities in an appropriate cultural environment. Opportunities offered include music, dance, art, drama, swimming, discussion groups, homework and breakfast clubs, holiday excursions and trips. We meet on every weekend and sometimes during the week at lunch break or after school.

Founded 2002

  • Mission statement

We are here to give disadvantaged city kids from Barnet, opportunities for growth they would otherwise not receive. The youth are disadvantaged by coming from low income families and yet live in wealthier neighborhoods, thus causing them to have inferior spirits that eventually leads to becoming ‘at-risk youth’. The youth joining our club should come away from our projects feeling empowered with better social skills, more of a positive attitude to health and fitness and a very healthy emotional state to help them with their day to day challenges and to become stable adults that contribute positively to society.

  • Aims

Give Youth A Break aims to:

    • We aim to minimize 'at risk' youth in the area.
    • We aim to help the local disadvantaged youth become emotionally healthy and give them many tools to build their social skills and a positive attitude towards health and fitness.
