The Listening Place

To provide sustained face-to-face support for those who feel life is no longer worth living. This support is provided by very well trained volunteers and supported by mental health professionals.

Founded 2015

  • Mission statement

To provide a person, place and space to support those who feel life is no longer worth living. A place to come and talk to volunteers, not professionals but someone who is warm, trained and non-judgemental and who is willing to engage with those feelings. A volunteer who gets to know and support them over many weeks. In particular to help those who find it difficult to get the care and attention they need.

  • Aims

    The Listening Place aims to:

    • To reduce suicide and mental suffering in the UK, by providing free listening support, delivered by trained volunteers.
