Mission statement

It develops new writers and promotes the best new theatre Soho Theatre is London’s most vibrant venue for new theatre, comedy and cabaret. We attract over 170,000 audience members per year and we have a younger audience demographic than most other theatre venues.
Soho Theatre’s mission is to produce new work; nurture new writers and artists; develop new audiences. The first purpose-built new writing theatre in the UK, we provide an environment in which artists and writers working across different live performance genres can thrive and establish their careers in this industry.
We play a distinctive role in the British cultural landscape at the point where these forms converge.
We create and present new live performance and we work with the most exciting artists in the UK.
Our audience is younger, more culturally and economically diverse, more adventurous than the traditional theatregoer.
Behind the scenes we work extensively with young people and unheard voices; we are an incubator of artistic talent. -
