Eat United rescues food - that would otherwise be unnecessarily be wasted - from vendors at the local market in Managua. The collected food is then distributed among food insecure communities in the city. The food is either distributed in the form of food packets to the families, or it is used to cook food at regular community cooking events. The collection and distribution of food is run by local volunteers and made possible by the donations from local vendors.
Eat United creates networks for the collection and distribution of quality food that would be unnecessarily wasted to food-insecure communities in Managua.
Eat United aims to:
- Our aim is to expand operations to three new food-insecure communities in the city. Donations would go towards establishing a sustainable network of collecting and distributing food to beneficiaries.
