Faithworks Wessex delivers projects to address relational, physical and financial poverty across the Bournemouth / Poole / Christchurch conurbation, by inspiring, equipping and supporting people on their journey out of isolation or poverty. The main activities of the organisation are: Relational Hope for isolated individuals: Relational Hope for Families: Helping people find financial hope; and, giving people Physical Hope.
Faithworks Wessex (FWW) is a local Christian charity, now in its 12th year, working to inspire and equip people on their journey out of isolation, poverty and suffering and into a place where they have hope for the future. We deliver projects to address relational, physical and financial poverty across the Bournemouth / Poole / Christchurch conurbation and rural Dorset, helping people to “live life to the full”.
Faithworks Wessex aims to:
- Relational Hope: We equip volunteers to become “good neighbours” to older people, carers, lone parents and those escaping domestic abuse, putting on activities to grow skills (finance, cooking etc.)
- Financial Hope: Our budget coaches and debt advisors help people gain control of their finances and start an achievable debt management plan
- Physical Hope: We enable five local foodbanks to run, and we coordinate the faith sector’s work to help homeless get off, and stay off, the streets in Bournemouth
- Spiritual Hope: We equip churches to reach out to their communities, especially to be more Dementia Aware; we provide a bridge from statutory sector into faith sector
