The Savitri Waney Charitable Trust

We work with project partners in some of the hardest to reach rural areas in India to ensure high quality and sustainable programmes across three main areas:

1. Curable blindness
2. Care for the dying
3. Environment & Livelihoods

What unites these three issues is the cascading impact our work has on families and their communities. We also have stand alone projects in Education, Gender quality and child malnutrition.

100% of every public donation goes directly to projects.

  • Mission statement

To deliver high impact, innovative solutions to poverty, with compassion.
We help the blind see, we ease the pain of the dying, we educate children and we support farmers to grow crops and harvest water.
Poverty reduction is at the core of what we do.

  • Aims

The Savitri Waney Charitable Trust aims to:

    • Curable Blindness - We help the blind see using cataract surgery to restore sight to some of the poorest people in the world.
    • Care for the dying - We provide vital care for people who are dying and support to families who in the absence of effective palliative care, are often forced into crippling debt.
    • Environment & Livelihoods -Food and water are two of the most basic needs in the world. We help people construct wells, diversify crops and increase their incomes whilst protecting their environment.
