Cornwall Search & Rescue Team

Cornwall Search and Rescue Team is a registered charity that provides a search and rescue service for missing, lost, vulnerable and injured people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year across the whole of inland Cornwall. The team is entirely made up of volunteers to respond to emergencies when called upon by Cornwall and Devon Police. Team members give up their time freely and purchase much of their equipment themselves. The team is called out about 40 times per year and has 50 members

  • Mission statement

It is our aim to provide a high quality and professional service free of charge to the police and public 24/7. To be able to assist, manage or lead local searches in the event of missing person scenarios. To be able to deploy swiftly, safely and efficiently. Many of the missing people in Cornwall are lost within semi-rural locations which are not covered by other organisations such as the Coastguard. Our search teams and dog search teams are trained under the umbrella organisation Mountain Rescue UK. However, as we expand to cover more inland waterways and tricky access areas of Cornwall such as mines searches, we have adopted a “more than just mountains” moto.
