Telford Christian Council Supported Housing

Stay provides housing and support to homeless and vulnerable people in the area. Stay has supported accommodation for young families, young women and young single homeless people and also offers floating support services to people in their own home.

Through regular keywork sessions, Stay supports people through any issues in their lives at that time, identifies their goals and aspirations, equips them with the skills needed to live independently (such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting etc. )

Founded 1990

  • Mission statement

Stay's mission is to change the lives of homeless young people.

Working with passion and integrity, Stay helps young people in times of crisis. Through our network of support and housing we then work with them through any issues relevant in their lives at the time, enable them to develop the skills they need to live independently, and inspire them to achieve their aspirations.

Stay recently celebrated 25 years since the very first hostel was set up as part of the Challenge Anneka TV Programme in 1990. Since then, Stay has grown considerably and now supports around 150 people and families at any one time who have found themselves homeless, vulnerable and in need of support. Stay supports people through any issues in their lives at that time, identifies their goals and aspirations, equips them with the skills needed to live independently (such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting etc. ) and helps them realise their full potential as Stay believes that with the right help and support, everyone has the potential to thrive.

Recently, Stay has employed a Homeless Outreach Co-ordinator who is the first port of call for anyone finding themselves homeless and vulnerable. As well as responding to anyone who makes contact, the Outreach Co-ordinator will carry out regular patrols to actively seek to engage with those rough sleeping and offers valuable support service to facilitate the first step from street to home.
