Age UK Essex is an independent charity covering Essex, Southend and Thurrock which provides services to support older people to enable them to live independently and to improve their quality of life. Although we are brand partners of the national charity Age UK, we are financially independent. Our main activities are Information & Advice, Advocacy, Home Help, Toenail Trimming, Befriending and Dementia Connections.

    To provide support and services to equip older people in Essex in facing the challenge of later life
    To promote positive attitudes towards older people and ageing
    To influence and develop public policies that affect older people
    To promote effective care for older people
    To encourage independence, choice and opportunity for older people.
    To promote the relief of elderly people in any manner which now or hereafter may be deemed by law to be charitable in and around Essex.

    Age UK Essex aims to:

    • Give older people choice and dignity, promote healthy living and maintain independence.
    • Provide services to help to reduce the reliance and dependence on the statutory Health and Social Care services and ultimately emergency hospital admission.
