Founded 1991

  • Mission statement

At Amelia Trust Farm our vision is to provide the best appropriate support for disadvantaged and vulnerable people within a Care Farm setting and to be an educative countryside sanctuary for all to enjoy. We provide alternative education placements to 11-16 years old individuals who are struggling in mainstream provision. Children that have suffered direct abuse or neglect often find mainstream educational environments too intimidating causing increased levels of anxiety. We support and value them through their difficulties whether they are feeling threatened, vulnerable, anxious or disadvantaged. The Care Farm setting offers a more relaxed nurturing environment with a high level of pastoral support and a total sensory experience within a farming environment. 84% of young people we support return to school, move on to Further Education,
employment or training. The value of setting the feet of a young person on the right path is priceless.

The Farm is also open to the general public to enjoy throughout the year with woodland walks, nature trails, a café, animal centre and children play areas. We provide facilities to the local community including a gardening area for adults with learning disabilities, a 30 bed bunkhouse and camping for youth and other groups and a sportshall for hire. We encourage schools and other groups to visit us and to get involved in tours on the Farm and environmental and conservation activities such as pond dipping and making bird feeders.
