Rainbow Care Centre

Rainbow Care Centre was established in 1990 in Carnwadric Church. This was to provide recreational activities to vulnerable and disadvantaged elderly living in the South West of Glasgow. To this day, the Day Centre provides a homely atmosphere with a space to relax, range of activities, promoting physical and mental stimulation, social recreation, customised transport, to and from the centre, and a three course nutritional meal every day.

  • Mission statement

    To promote the welfare of the frail elderly from South Glasgow and assist in the relief of poverty, sickness and distress by:
    • Provision of a Day Care facility, including lunch
    • Filling the gap between home support and institutional care
    • Promoting, establishing and operating other schemes of a charitable nature for the benefit of the community
    • Working in partnership with statutory and voluntary bodies to secure an integrated approach to the care of older people
    • Reducing premature admissions to permanent care through the provision of tailored programmes of support
    • Improving the conditions of life of older people and reducing social isolation
    • The provision of support and relief for families and carers of our elderly people.

    Rainbow Care Centre aims to:

    • To encourages Members to regain their Independence, enjoy Social Inclusion and to promote Health and Wellbeing.
    • To bridge a very important gap between Independent Living and being sent into a Care Home.
