  • Mission statement

    The Perth & Kinross Association is a charitable entity that exists to promote participation in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award by eligible young people and, volunteers who can assist in the running of the Award. The Association operates within the boundaries of Perth & Kinross as defined by Perth & Kinross Council. Our work is across the full spectrum of young people including Additional Support Needs young people, those who are deemed to be ‘harder to help;’ at risk of substance or alcohol dependency. We are both an independent advocate of the Award and a partnership working organisation with various other organisations. We also seek to deliver the best training, with our partners, to our volunteers, to make them confident, competent and successful, allowing them to bring their best to our young people participating within the Award.

  • Aims

    Duke Of Edinburgh's Award,Perth & Kinross Association aims to:

    • To advance the mental, physical and spiritual welfare of young people between the ages of 14 and 25 by promoting the scheme of Awards known as The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
    • To assist young people to participate in the Award; To establish a group of users to co-ordinate the delivery of the Award at local level; To promote the Award locally, by recruiting adults,
    • To pool resources of leadership, equipment and facilities; To help participants who have started the Award under one Operating Authority to link up with other agency to complete the Award;
    • To help independent participants not attached to particular Award Units; To arrange Award Presentations in consultation with the Operating Authority; To train new Leaders and volunteers;
    • To maintain contact with Award Holders; To monitor standards to ensure a degree of uniformity; To share good practice to improve standards.
