Charity information

Starfish Malawi

We are a Christian organisation seeking to make a difference in the lives of children both in the UK and Malawi through education based partnerships and community projects.

We believe that by making a difference to even one person, we can make a difference to the lives of many.

Founded 2009

  • Mission statement

Starfish Malawi is an education based charity which works to impact the lives of children in Malawi and the UK. Our Schools Linking Programme now facilitates 50 international partnerships, which aim to enhance learners’ understanding of their place in the world as global citizens.

Over the years the charity has also implemented and been involved with a vast number of projects on topics such as health education and sanitation, HIV/AIDS awareness, orphan care, vocational training and school development (details available upon request).

Starfish Malawi is looking to develop people centred projects which can have a long lasting impact on marginalised communities in Malawi.

  • Aims

    Starfish Malawi aims to:

    • To bring children from schools in Malawi and the UK together to learn more about each others' lives and develop as global thinkers through educational partnerships.
    • To empower girls and women in disadvantaged communities by practically enabling them to fully participate in school, work or family life through the provision of reusable sanitary hygiene kits
    • To provide sponsorship for disadvantaged children in Malawi to complete secondary education and look forward to a brighter future.
    • To provide health services, nursery education, social care, vocational training and student sponsorship for local communities in Malawi through our Glad Tidings Orphan Care programme.
