Charity information

Dig Deep (Africa)

Dig Deep works with rural communities in Kenya to access water and sanitation. Working together we implement training and appropriate technologies to bring about sustainable improvements in health and education. We aspire to enable people to break the cycle of poverty and transform their own lives.

Founded 2007

  • Mission statement

    How We Do It
We improve access to water and sanitation by building taps and toilets. We do this by ensuring communities understand the technological choices available and work with them to choose and construct those that are most appropriate to their own circumstances and needs.
Training – taps and toilets don’t improve health and education, only using them effectively does. This is why we train leaders in how to teach their communities vital information about how disease is spread and to change attitudes and behaviours surrounding water and sanitation.
Rather than spreading our projects across different countries and types of intervention we work solely on water and sanitation in rural Kenya. This means that we are able to build long term partnerships with communities, government and local NGOs as well as developing the understanding of local context and expertise needed to undertake our projects effectively.
