  • Mission statement

    CHIVA works across the UK and Ireland to improve care for HIV positive children and their families. We provide information, guidance and support for professionals, and for parents, children and young people who live with HIV.

    CHIVA is committed to enhancing the health and social outcomes for children, and young people living with HIV and reducing their isolation.
    CHIVA ensures the voices of children and young people living with HIV are present in service and practice development and heard in public forums.
    We are committed to addressing and challenging the stigma that is frequently experienced by those living with HIV.

  • Aims

    Children's HIV Association Limited aims to:

    • To ensure that every HIV positive child in the UK has the optimum health care provision in line with CHIVA‚Äôs Standards of Care
    • To ensure that every HIV positive child in the UK has the opportunity to access high quality social and peer support, whether locally or through the CHIVA national support camp
    • To work to tackle the stigma and discrimination experienced by people living with HIV, raising awareness and understanding.
    • To be the voice of HIV positive children and young people and ensure their experiences and opinions are central to the development of CHIVA and heard in public forums
