St Luke's Cheshire Hospice

St Luke’s is an adult Hospice that cares for people from mid and south Cheshire suffering from cancer and other life limiting illnesses, caring for people from diagnosis onward.

Founded 1988

  • Mission statement

St Luke's Hospice is a non-profit making organisation offering around the clock care, advice and support to hundreds of seriously ill people and their families. The free care we provide is expensive and this year over 80% of our costs need to be raised from donations, this equates to £3. 1million or £5. 98 every single minute.

Every single day of the year the St Luke’s cares for up to 10 patients on the ward, provides practical and emotional support for their families, and offers supportive and palliative care to up to 30 people through the Day Hospice. We have a multidisciplinary team offering services including a complementary therapies for health and well-being clinic, a counselling team, social work team, lymphoedema team and also a medical team that work across the Hospice.

Our second site at Winterley Grange provides complementary therapies and some support services, and also hosts the wider education teams for both end of life and dementia care.

  • Aims

St Luke's Cheshire Hospice aims to:

    • Our ethos is one of service; being of service to our local people and community is central to all that we do. This spirit of service at St Luke’s extends beyond patients to their family and friends.
    • Our strength as an organisation comes from the fact that all parts of the Hospice work together, and we all share a sense of privilege and honour that comes from being involved in such important care.
    • The founding members of St Luke’s Hospice were driven by the same ideals that inspire us today; to reach out a caring hand to those in need and to help relieve their suffering of mind, spirit or body.
