The Fusilier Museum is home to the collections of the XX Lancashire Fusiliers and Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Together they record nearly 350 years of history.

  • Mission statement

    To provide access for people of all ages, backgrounds and level of ability to the objects and stories in our care for their enjoyment, education and research, whilst ensuring that the collections are appropriately safeguarded. In so doing, to put the values of the Regiment into context with modern society and contribute to local and regional quality of life.

  • Aims

    The Fusilier Museum And Learning Centre Limited aims to:

    • To maintain and preserve the history, collections and personal stories of the XX The Lancashire Fusiliers and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers ensuring these are appreciated by future generations
    • To provide learning and handling opportunities for school children to use the Museum's stories and artefacts to help bring areas of the national curriculum to life and reinforce classroom teaching.
    • To preserve the wonderful Grade 2 listed building which houses the Museum, in which L.S.Lowry used to teach during his tenure as President of Bury Art Society.
