  • Mission statement

Our vision is a world in which everyone can have his or her resource needs met within a system that is environmentally sustainable, socially inclusive and economically responsible.

    Our mission:

To improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of our local communities by collecting waste for reuse and recycling

To promote the understanding and practice of the 3Rs of waste and resource management – Reduction, Reuse and Recycling – through our community involvement and our educational and operational activities.

EMERGE 3RS is established with four aims:

    a) To promote for the benefit of the public the conservation protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment by the promotion of waste reduction, re-use, recycling, use of recycled products and the sustainable management of resources.

    b) To advance the education of the public in the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment, in particular all aspects of waste regeneration, resource management and waste reduction, re-use and recycling.
    c) The relief of poverty.
    d) The preservation and protection of good health, in particular by the promotion of good nutrition.

  • Aims

    EMERGE 3RS aims to:

    • Double the tonnage of food we distribute to our Community Food Members (CFM) by end of 2016 with the corresponding CO2 reduction and savings in the food budgets of our CFMS to use on their services.
    • Increase the number of Community Food Members by 50% by 2016
    • Ensure our volunteering programme leads to as many volunteers as possible gaining NVQ level 2 qualification and the confidence to help with job hunting
    • Increase by a third the number of wood products invoiced in 2016 by Touch Wood thus preventing wood going to landfill.
