Charity information

Winchester Detached Youth Work Project

Winchester Detached Youth Work Project (aka Street Reach), is a youth charity working in Winchester, Hampshire.

Founded 1983

  • Mission statement

The primary objective of Street Reach is to empower vulnerable and disadvantaged young people aged 11-19 to recognise and achieve their full potential.
Street Reach is a youth charity which has been operating in Winchester since 1983. The charity was created to support young people who experience disadvantage and suffering from a range of issues. Our youth workers go out into communities and build up positive relationships with young people encountered on the streets, at shop fronts and local parks. We meet them on their own territory at times appropriate to them and on their terms. We strive to ensure that these young people have access to information, advice and opportunities and seek to improve the lives and raise aspirations of both individuals and communities.

We encourage young people to attend targeted workshops, activity days and residential trips, providing opportunities to enjoy and achieve and removing barriers to access. We also run a thriving drop-in Friday Football Project and a weekly Youth Club in Micheldever.

  • Aims

Winchester Detached Youth Work Project aims to:
