The Mahler Players

To advance the arts and culture in the Highlands by making high quality live performances of music by a wide range of composers available

Founded 2014

  • Mission statement

We aim to provide the Highlands of Scotland with high quality performances of music by Mahler and other composers which is not often heard here. The reduced orchestration arrangements of the music that we use are all of high quality and very recent. Ticket prices represent very good value, with prices for under 26s frozen at £5 as part of our attempt to bring the music to a new and wider audience. We engage with our potential audience throughout the year through social media. We also exist to give a professional standard performance platform for our members. The reduced size of the orchestra and the remarkable pool of instrumental talent in the area means we can achieve very high musical standards. Finally, the majority of our concerts will involve vocal soloists and we endeavor to engage the most promising young singers in Scotland today, giving them the priceless opportunity to perform this repertoire with an ensemble.
