Hackney Foodbank provides emergency food supplies, friendship and signposting to local people in crisis. HFB offers a coordinated response to food poverty, working in partnership with the community.

  • Mission statement

    Hackney Foodbank aims to be a source of hope in a situation of despair, envisioning a borough where no member of our community goes hungry in a time of crisis; where local organisations link together to ensure the vulnerable are supported and advocated for; where local churches combine their efforts across denominational boundaries to show love in action.

    Hackney foodbank's mission is to:

    • provide relief to individuals and families in crisis in Hackney and surrounding areas through the provision of emergency food supplies either directly or through approved partner agencies

    • provide physical, mental and spiritual support either directly or by referral to approved partner agencies to enable the service users to avoid future crises.

    We are passionate about ensuring that members of our local community no longer go hungry in times of crisis.

  • Aims

    The Hackney Foodbank aims to:

    • Providing a practical example of Christian compassion & hospitality in Hackney through the provision of food to people in Crisis. Creates opportunities for inter-denominational collaboration.
    • The prevention or relief of poverty or financial hardship in Hackney, including the provision of grants, items and services to individuals in need. HFB fed over 7,000 residents since September 2012.
