The Humanimal Trust is the first UK charity set up to advance the dialogue about uniting and moving animal and human healthcare forward through shared ideas, shared technology and integrated research.

  • Mission statement

    The mission of The Humanimal Trust is to:

    Create awareness of the benefits of practical implementation of One Medicine principles.

    Inspire surgeons in veterinary and human medicine, to dedicate their time and influence to share their expertise for the benefit of all.

    Make a positive and proactive impact by raising funds to support development and education initiatives that will move animal and human healthcare forward in unison.

    Lead the One Medicine movement by raising funds for medical research which is of direct clinical relevance to both animal and human medicine in the areas of:

    1. Cancer
    2. Viruses and Bacteria
    3. Orthopaedic implants and biofilms
    4. Antibiotics and resistance
    5. Regenerative medicine, stem cells and scaffolds.

  • Aims

    The Humanimal Trust aims to:

    • To sponsor medical research relevant to both animals and humans in the fields of: Cancer Viruses and bacteria Orthopaedic implants and bio film Antibiotic resistance Regenerative medicine.
    • To foster collaboration between veterinary and human medical professionals for the benefit of all species, through the provision of a forum for collaboration, and through joint events.
    • To raise awareness of the principles of One Medicine within the medical professions and among the general public.
