VAR PROVIDES SUPPORT SERVICES TO THE VOLUNTARY AND COMMUNITY GROUPS/ORGANISATIONS WITHIN THE BOROUGH. THIS IS PROVIDED BY THE FOLLOWING: A VOLUNTEER CENTRE, DEVELOPING AND FACILITATING NETWORKS AND COLLABORATIVE WORKING, UNDERTAKES POLICY ANALYSIS AND RESEARCH, LOBBIES ON BEHALF OF THE SECTOR, RUNS A MEMBERSHIP SCHEME, DEVELOP AND MANAGE SEVERAL BESPOKE PROJECTS.

    Our mission is to promote, support and develop the voluntary and community sector in Rotherham to bring about positive change in the lives of people and communities of our town

    Voluntary Action Rotherham aims to:

    • 1. We aim to support local voluntary and community sector organisations to have the skills, knowledge and confidence to run high quality projects and services that make a difference to local people
    • 2. We aim to support local voluntary and community sector organisations to have a say in key developments and decisions linked to their work
    • 3. We aim to support local voluntary and community sector organisations to work better together
    • 4. We want to create a high quality organisations that is well governed, financially and environmentally sustainable, and which makes a positive difference for local voluntary and community sector organisations
