HOME-START GLASGOW SOUTH
Home-Start Glasgow South is a voluntary organisation offering informal, friendly support to parents with at least one child under the age of 8.

Founded 2000

  • Mission statement

Home-Start Glasgow South is a voluntary organisation offering informal, friendly support to parents with at least one child under the age of 8. Home-Start Glasgow South knows how hard being a parent can be, particularly during the early years, and that any additional pressures can make things seem overwhelming. Volunteers, who have experience of parenting, visit families in their own homes to offer support, friendship and practical help.
The families we help come from a wide variety of backgrounds and are looking for support for many different reasons including: postnatal illness, loneliness, isolation, mental health issues, addiction, relationship problems, poverty, disability, single parenthood and coping with multiple births or several young children. Families are often referred to us via their GP, Health Visitor or Social Worker. However, many families contact us directly.

Home-Start Glasgow South is based in Pollokshaws Burgh Hall, 2025 Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow and we have been operating for 15 years.
